Política da Revista

he Revista de Segurança, Desenvolvimento e Defesa (RSDD) is a semiannual publication that prioritizes articles presenting research results focused on the field of Security, Development and Defense.

Scientific articles and policy papers, after being submitted through the platform, are received and sent to two or more reviewers under a blind review system.

Articles and policy papers must be original and must not have been submitted for publication in another journal or publication while under review by the RSDD. Submission is made exclusively through the journal’s platform: https://rsdd.esd.gov.br/index.php/rsdd/index

Author Guidelines

The journal’s website provides guidelines for manuscript submission. The fundamental criterion for publication is compliance with the journal’s editorial scope. Articles published by the RSDD are the sole responsibility of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the position of the Escola Superior de Defesa and/or the Ministry of Defense of Brazil.

Article Submissions

The journal only accepts submissions of unpublished texts related to matters within its editorial scope, with an emphasis on topics related to Security, Development and Defense. An unpublished article is a text that has not been previously published or disseminated in print and/or digital format. Articles originally published in a foreign language may be accepted, provided that both the author and the journal in which the article was published send their consent to the RSDD.

For articles with multiple authors, the order of authorship must be indicated according to ownership of the idea and the largest portion of the writing, or in accordance with the Responsibility Statement and the declaration of each author authorizing publication of the article.

Articles that comply with the above rules will undergo an evaluation process by referees/reviewers with expertise in the subject, invited to issue an opinion without access to the author’s name, under a blind peer review system. At the end of this process, the author will be notified by email whether the article has been accepted or not and whether it will await the first opportunity for publication. If there are suggestions or corrections from the reviewers, they will be sent to the author through the email address provided at the time of submission.

The evaluation process begins with receipt of the article through the OJS platform and the confirmation email from the RSDD.

Formatting of Affiliation Information

  1. Name of the institution to which the research is affiliated — written in full, with the abbreviation in parentheses; 2) City and State/Federal Unit, when applicable; 3) Country, written in full and according to the spelling used in the original language.

Example: Professor of the Graduate Program in International Relations (IREL-UNB), Brasília, DF, Brazil.

Statement on Ethics and Good Publication Practices

The RSDD always seeks to observe the guidelines established by the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics — COPE (https://publicationethics.org/). Therefore, it is essential that all editors, authors, and reviewers respect and adopt these guidelines in order to prevent any possibility of unethical conduct and malpractice in publications. Accordingly, the journal repudiates all forms of plagiarism, falsification of information, fabrication of results, improper or ghost authorship, and any other type of fraud that may harm scientific ethics.

Manuscript Formatting

The RSDD adopts the rules of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) (http://www.abnt.org.br/), all of which are specified in the Author Guidelines.

Authors who publish in this journal declare that:

a) All statements contained in the manuscript are true or based on empirical or scientific research. The work must not be based on mere speculation or generic sources;
